Robert Baum & Wife Clare
Re-enactors
Attendance Confirmed
Since he retired about ten years ago, Robert Baum has become deeply involved in carrying on the rich history of his great-grandfather and great-grandmother, L. Frank Baum, creator of “The Wizard of Oz,” and Maude Baum. His wife Clare works side-by-side with him in this labor of love. As re-enactors, their presentation of the 1899-1900 lives of his great-grandparents is critically acclaimed wherever they
perform it from one American coast to the other. Children as well as adults delight in hearing
and seeing the lives of L. Frank and Maude Baum being authentically re-created.
Robert is also sought after as a consultant regarding the life, times and literature of his great-grandparents. Along with other members of his family, Robert contributed a great deal to the making of the highly successful television movie Dreamer of Oz starring John Ritter. In fact, Robert personally filled the set of the home office used in the film with his private collection of actual L. Frank Baum items. The program aired in 1990 to high ratings and good reviews.
Both Robert and Clare will be participating in the 2009 Chesterton Wizard of Oz Festival.
Don’t be afraid to step up and say “hi!”
They love meeting new Oz friends!
